I was a law enforcement professional for 47 years and I believe I know what qualities are necessary to be a successful police executive. We need a sheriff who is honest, transparent, fair, and who is concerned about all citizens. We do not need a sheriff who has not innovated new ideas, has not collaborated with local leaders, or who will simply keep the sheriff's office “status quo.”

We need Byron Roberson as Johnson County Sheriff.

I have known Byron since his first days in Prairie Village. I was not surprised at all when he was selected to be the current Chief of Police. A graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, he has always been a model of professionalism and leadership within the department. Byron’s achievements are firmly grounded in a commitment to serving the community, public safety, and cooperation among law enforcement agencies throughout the region. I am confident he will bring those same commitments to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

I have had a professional working relationship with Chief Byron Roberson for over two decades. Chief Roberson has a proven record of leading with integrity, compassion, and ingenuity.  The quality of law enforcement in Johnson County is in part based on a positive working relationship between local, county, state, and federal law enforcement.

As the Sheriff of Johnson County, Chief Roberson will concentrate on ensuring the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department exhibits and is a leader in quality partnerships. He understands the responsibilities of the Johnson County Sheriff and will be an impactful law enforcement leader. Johnson County would be fortunate to have Chief Roberson as its next sheriff!

As the current sheriff of Jackson County, Missouri it has been my honor to serve our community and uphold the principles of justice, safety, and service. Working over 30 years for the Kansas City Mo, Police Department, I have seen firsthand the importance of strong, capable leadership in this office.  A commitment to community, integrity in decision making, and the ability to lead with both strength and compassion make good leaders great.  I am confident that Chief Byron Roberson will continue to be such a leader when he is elected Sheriff of Johnson County Kansas in November.  It is with great pride that I endorse Chief Roberson and look forward to forging new collaborative relationships between our two great communities to help solve mutual problems facing us today.  

Johnson County deserves a sheriff that will put the needs of the citizens and the office before their politics. Johnson County needs a forward-thinking sheriff, not one who shared the vision of Calvin Hayden. Johnson County needs a sheriff who is professional, respected, and committed to moving the sheriff’s office into the modern era of policing. We need Byron Roberson for Sheriff.

I served as department psychologist for many Kansas law enforcement agencies for over 35 years, including the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and the Prairie Village Police Department.  I am strongly endorsing Chief Roberson to be our next Johnson County Sheriff.  He has the judgment, values, and experience to lead a modern law enforcement agency and undo the damage done by the last eight years of leadership at the sheriff’s office. Chief Roberson will make an excellent Sheriff.

I have been able to support Chief Roberson and our amazing Police Department for several years while I was a council member for Prairie Village. During that time, I learned an incredible amount about our community, felt an immense gratitude for the service he provided to all our families and I consider him a friend. I am honored to support Byron this November for our new sheriff.
